Faithfulness has a name: Ruth Gravel

After 18 1/2 years Ruth is retiring from her position as Financial Secretary of First Baptist Church of Pawtucket.

A life-long member of our church, beginning in the original building at the corner of High and Summit  Streets, she looks forward to having more free time in her retirement years.RuthGravelcrop

“I’ve always loved this church and have always loved being a member.  Even though I live in North Smithfield, I drive here to attend church because this is my church family,” said Ruth who is 64 years young. “You get a satisfaction, a joy when you do something that’s important for the church.”

Prior to serving as Financial Secretary Ruth was the Chair of our Board of Christian Education for over 10 years.  She also assists with the Food Pantry.

She retired from her job at Verizon 2 years ago, after 36 years in the data entry field.  Ruth looks forward to now having even more time for leisure activities that she enjoys such as planting, traveling, listening to Celtic Music, and her Scottish Dance Troop.  Let’s thank Ruth for her faithful service to FBC!  “Well done good and faithful Servant!” (Matthew25:23).
